Seeking Soul :
An Interfaith Self-Directed Program to Enhance your Spiritual Path
"I have spent my days stringing and unstringing my instrument
while the song I came here to sing remains unsung" - Rabindranath
Tagore
A characteristic of todays "advanced" cultures is the
alienation and fragmentation of the soul. Reconnecting with spirit awakens
us to greater purpose, passion and wholeness. The sessions outlined below
are for those interested in deepening intimacy with their soul and its
longings. This program is designed for the participants to attend all
(or most) of the sessions.
To Be Called; Response; the Quest
We are called in different ways. For some the loss of a career, relationship,
or loved one will initiate the process. For others it is the feeling that
we are not leading the meaningful life we were meant to live. Will the
soul allow us to refuse this call? How do we respond? Gaining some insights
help us in the quest to understand what we are being called to.
Exploring the Landscapes of our Souls
Identifying the major landscapes of the soul and understanding their
value helps us better navigate through life whether we are in the"
long dark night" or enjoying "the garden."
Personal Myth: Family Myth: World Myth
Are our past and present myths still serving us? Create a more meaningful
myth for who we are today in relationship to our family, our community,
the world and ourselves.
God Imaging/ God Ideal
(God is used in the "To Whom It May Concern" sense) What
is our sense of the Divine; the Great Mystery, Gods, Goddess, Higher Self?
Does our relationship with our "God Image" love, support and
accept who we really are, even our imperfections? When we take time to
explore this important question we begin to understand the true nature
of love.
Transforming Shadow to a Golden Gift
Denial and repression of our "shadow" aspects only keep
us more separate from our true essence. They have gifts for us if we listen
to what they are trying to tell us.
Sex, Soul, Spirit: The Exquisite Trinity
We cannot hope to grow towards wholeness without understanding we
are embodied spiritual beings. When we honor our bodies as our sacred
temples and our sexuality as our life force we become fully alive and
connected to soul and spirit.
"The world will be healed one psyche at a time." Carl
Jung
Our exploration will draw from Sufi, Kabbala and Christian mysticism
and Tantra under the canopy of Jungian orientated psychology.
